MAPs: How They Work

Panther's Microarray Patch (MAP) represents a breakthrough in transdermal drug delivery systems, consisting of an array of tiny needles—each just hundreds of microns long—designed to pierce the outermost layer of the skin without reaching the deeper pain receptors, resulting in a virtually pain-free experience.

Upon application, the biocompatible tips, which are loaded with therapeutic agents or vaccines, begin to dissolve within the interstitial fluid of the skin, releasing the medication directly into the epidermis and dermis.

Platform Benefits

By targeting the responsive and highly concentrated immune cells in the skin, Panther’s MAPs are designed to more precisely and efficiently modulate the immune system using lower dosages than traditional methods, resulting in more efficacious treatments. Panther’s MAPs are shelf-stable, making cold chain requirements obsolete, and obviate sharps, eliminating costly disposal and injuries. They can be delivered directly to consumers and have great potential to lower end-to-end healthcare costs.
